CLAIRE PLANTE
TOPIC: Embryo Transfer

Dr. Plante is a graduate of the Veterinary College of the University de Montreal (1982). Following a residency in Theriogenology at Iowa State University, she became certified with the American Board of Theriogenology in 1987. Dr. Plante completed her PhD at the University of Florida and a post-doctoral fellowship in reproductive pathology at the Ontario Veterinary College (OVC). Dr. Plante was a faculty member in the Department of Population Medicine at OVC from 1993 to 2002.

She is the owner of Plante Veterinary Services and practices specialized equine, swine and deer reproduction, male and female. Dr. Plante is also a managing director of Genesafe Technologies Ltd. of Guelph. Genesafe specializes in the development and clinical utilization of reproductive technologies for use in international genetic movement and pathogen elimination in all of these species. Dr. Plante is a certified member with the Canadian Embryo Transfer Association.

 ROBERT FERA
TOPIC: Foal After Care & Young Horse Development

Robert is the owner and operator of Deerpath Breeding and Development, an equine reproduction facility serving clients in Southern Ontario since 1999. With his vast knowledge in stallion management, mare care and foaling, Deerpath is the first choice for many breeders and owners looking for expert care for their reproductive needs. Additionally, Robert has worked as the equine nutrition specialist for several large animal nutrition companies including Animal Pro Products, the leading manufacturer of digestive supplements for multiple species where he is the animal health specialist.

Robert continues to stay abreast of new information in animal health and nutrition and  recently completed the Veterinary Epidemiology and Public Health course through the Royal Veterinary College in the UK. Along with publishing articles on animal health and nutrition, Robert has been invited to speak at animal nutrition conferences in Canada and the US.
