ALBERTA'S 5th ANNUAL FREE-JUMPING ASSESSMENT CLINIC

JUMP RIGHT IN!

Does your horse have the potential to be a great jumper?

Find out at the CSHA free-jumping clinic in June, when international show jumping coach, trainer, judge, CSHA Stallion Inspector, Bob Henselwood will be on hand to provide you with an individual assessment of show jumping prospects.

The clinic format is straightforward. Participating horses strut their stuff on the flat and over jumps while Bob evaluates their conformation and natural jumping ability. Does the mare with the lovely stride have the potential to compete at a 1.40 m? Do that gelding’s uneven knees pose a problem or might he one day be a contender at the Chrysler Derby? Bob takes particulars into account as each horse warms up over X’s then goes through the chute. He’ll tell you what he looks for in a successful jumper and if the horse is well suited to this discipline.

Bob comments openly on what he sees and is generous with his knowledge welcoming audience participation. There is no age limit to the horses being assessed with preferences given to CSHA registered horses but all types and levels of training are eligible.

Technique, as everyone knows, can be honed through practice but if innate aptitude is lacking, no amount of practice can ever make perfect. This is a great opportunity to benefit from Mr. Henselwood’s expertise and find out if your young horse has the natural ability to become a jumper.

The clinic will be start at 7:00pm on Tuesday, June 17, 2008 at Anderson Ranch just south of Spruce Meadows. The cost per horse is $100. This fee includes the assessment and 2 handlers with stabling paid separately to the facility. Please note: participation is limited to 10 horses, so it’s best to book your spot early. Anyone wishing to audit the session may do so for a fee of $25.00, payable at the door.
