Rio Grande - A Performance Sire Extraordinaire!
Rio was the 2005 USEF Leading Living Sire of Hunters in North America and is
arguably the best H/J sire in Canadian history.
His versatile offspring include "Catwalk" winner of two Show Jumping WC qualifiers in 2007, Intermediate Eventing Champion, “R Kameo”, and USEF FEI 6 year-old Dressage winner “Grande Crimson”, as well as many approved stallions and numerous premium mares. Rio Grande sired many of the very best hunter currently showing in the US, including Winter Equestrian Festival Champions Rio Renoir, Rio Bravo, Rave, Eye Remember Rio and Due North as well as 2002 AHSA Horse of the Year Rio Bronco.
Rio Grande was the winner of his stallion performance test and an International Show Jumper, successfully representing Team Canada at Nations Cup competitions on several occasions. Rio Grande is one of a few stallions that truly puts a stamp on his offspring, passing on his good looks, outstanding athletic abilities, versatility and wonderful temperament.
Rio passed away in 2007 and excellent quality frozen semen is available.
