In the CCI* Young Riders' division at the Bromont International Three Day Event June 10 to 13, Samantha Galway of Toronto placed second (and was top Canadian) with Tangerine (Willow IV), a Canadian Sport Horse Association breeding approved mare by the Gold Premium stallion Yavari (deceased). Sam and Willow had an outstanding cross country ride at Bromont and were one of the few horse and rider combinations to post a clear stadium round on the final day of the Bromont in the highly competitive one-star division. They were 8th overall in the open CCI* (again, top Canadian). Samantha's coach is Ian Roberts of Dreamcrest.
Willow is an eight-year-old chestnut mare bred by Soo and Lee Olafsen; her sire Yavari, an Argentinian Thoroughbred, had a successful international Grand Prix jumping career before standing at stud at Ashland Farm. |
