VDL ULANDO H represents the very best of Holstein and Dutch Warmblood breeding, with no less than 8 International Grand Prix jumpers in the first 3 generations of his pedigree. Ulando was the 2004 Ontario Stallion Licensing Champion and Vice-Champion of the Stallion Performance Test. He placed 3rd at the prestigious Lt. Governor’s Cup at the 2004 RAWF, and was Grand Champion of the Hanoverian Free Jumping Competition. VDL Ulando began his career with the Jumper Development Series. In 2008 he began his eventing career with owner Ruth Armstrong, competing successfully in Ontario and Florida. Having schooled him through intermediate cross-country and show-jumping up to 1.45m, Ruth realized he had the power, scope and heart to compete at the top of the sport, and handed the ride over to Karl Slezak in 2011. Current success has him long listed and has proven that he has it all. Scope to burn, gaits to die for, and a fast light gallop that has him aimed at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, UK. His offspring are proving exceptional with lofty movement, athleticism, correctness of gaits and inherit his tractability and genuine desire to please.
