RUPERT's sire is the Grand Prix show jumper ‘Rio Grande’, ridden by Eric Lamaze, who selected him as a two-year old prospect based on his freejumping technique. 2008 was a successful year for his offspring, with ‘River of Dreams’ winning the McCallum Futurity trophy, and both 3-year old’s winning ribbons in the Lieutenant Governor General’s Cup Class at the Royal. Rupert has fabulous movement, tremendous scope and a lovely temperament. These high sought after characteristics are embodied by his foals as they all have eye-catching movement, lots of chrome and athletic aptitude, combined with easy-going personalities. Rupert was shown by his owner in the amateur divisions, competing successfully in 4 disciplines: Hunter, Jumper, Eventing and Dressage. Highlights include: 2006 Qualifying for the Preliminary level Eventing year-end Championships, High Score Award 2004 National Dressage Show: 73.077%, ‘A’ Circuit Handy Hunter Challenge score: 85.5%. An excellent cross for Thoroughbred mares, Rupert’s offspring are very flashy, correct movers, showing the same versatility and aptitude for all disciplines-although particularly marketable as hunter prospects.
