BRIOSO is an exquisitely agile, intelligent and athletic purebred Lusitano stallion. Brioso has an exceptional work ethic and is very versatile. Brioso consistently passes his prowess, athleticism and long correct legs to his foals. Brioso comes from some of the most famous and prestigious bloodlines known in the world today; such bloodlines as Coudelaria Nacional, Coudelaria D’Andrade and Coudelaria Ortiago are all in his lineage. In 1997 Brioso was High Points Medium 3 National Champion at Palgrave. In 1998 and 1999 Brioso was High Points Medium 4 National Champion at Palgrave. Brioso continued to climb the competitive ladder and the summer of 2000 Brioso began competing at the Prix St. Georges Level, receiving scores in the 60’s; also in 2000 for a change of pace, Brioso competed Training Level Eventing with Lindsay Mahon who explained his jumping style as cat like. By 2002 Brioso moved up to the prestigious level of Grand Prix, again receiving scores in the 60’s. In 2004 Brioso was retired from competition to be a schoolmaster, helping to teach students the finesse and higher movements of dressage. Brioso is a registered stallion with the CSHA and APSI (Associacao Portuguesa de Criadores do Cavalo Puro Sangne Lusitano).
