Welcome to CSHA website. We are currently under construction. Updating Soon!

Established in 1926, the Canadian Sport Horse is Canada’s oldest indigenous sport horse breed with horses successfully competing in the English Olympic disciplines of eventing, show jumping and dressage, as well as show hunters.

The aim of the CSHA is to ensure the production and promotion of a sound, solid horse, with a good disposition, capable of competing successfully in the Olympic Disciplines as well as at all levels of competition.

 President's Message:

The Annual General Meeting held March 6, 2010 was a tremendous success.  The constitutional amendments invited an open and lively discussion in particular with the content of the Stud Book resulting in a unanimous approval of the changes.  We now have a foundation for a breeding plan for the Canadian Sport Horse Association.

The amendments will now be sent forward for Government approval. While inspection of our breeding stock is not mandatory under the APA requirements, we feel it is a necessary step. It provides us with feedback to ensure we are on track to achieve our breeding plan and to provide information and intereact with our membership.

Plans are for the National Foal Championship program to again include the Maritimes, who held a wonderful class in 2008 and to expand to a second venue in both BC and Alberta and potentially a class in Manitoba.
